Coffee Shop Manager – Full Time
40hrs – Salary £19,000 PA + Benefits

Do you have a flair for customer service, strong organisational skills, and a love of food?

We have a vacancy for a coffee and food loving, trustworthy individual to join our team, working at Ground by Bringing the outside in, in Wells-next-the-Sea.

Established in 2006, Bringing the outside in has forged a reputation as one of the ‘must visit’ stores along the coast, offering a collection of coastal artefacts both old and new. In 2019 we opened our new BTOI Store and coffee shop alongside which has continued with our ethos, and compliments the retail experience, offering great coffee, wholesome salads and uncommon sandwiches.

As manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day to day operation and running of the store – driving profitability, ensuring that your team are working effectively and ensuring customers are at the heart of everything you do.

Areas of responsibility

Responsible and accountable for ensuring the smooth running of all operations of the coffee shop.

Preparation of sandwiches, salads and other food.

Responsible for opening, closing and cashing up daily.

Managing stock, ordering and deliveries.

Inspecting and maintaining equipment and flagging any issues.

Maintaining a safe workplace and adhere to health and safety legislation.

Reporting of weekly and monthly data

Assist in driving the company forward with the creation and implementation of new ideas.

Upholding and delivering core company values

Ensuring the store is clean, safe and inviting at all times.

Our ideal candidate will:

Have a understanding of operational targets including sales, COGS and waste

Have knowledge and experience of working within the hospitality / food and beverage sector although training can be given.

Be a people person with impeccable customer service skills.

Be enthusiastic and have the ability to motivate and engage your team when under pressure.

Happy and able to work solo and as part of the team.

Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista – Part Time – 2 days per week

(more days avalible over the summer if required)

We have a vacancy for coffee and food loving, trustworthy individuals to join our team working at Ground by Bringing the outside in.

Key responsibilities:

Delivering outstanding customer service at all times.

Preparation of food and beverages.

Cleaning, tiding and stock refilling.

Serving customers and handling money.

Ideal candidates will:

Have some experience working in a food or retail service environment.

Have great customer service skills.

Be able to adhere to food hygiene standards.

Be able to work in a team.

Be honest and reliable.

Be able to maintain a calm demeanour during periods of high volume and be capable of multi-tasking.

Aged oevr 18 and flexible to work mid week, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Full training will be given, however previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
